The Woman Who Laughed is the story of the adventurous flute maker who travels to the land of the wicked Onis and the benevolent Jizo Sama on a quest for her missing flute. Find out what makes the woman who laughed, laugh! Meet the Jizo Sama, the Japanese protector God of children and travelers, and the fiendish wicked Oni, who, "loves flute music more than most people!” Once captured, the woman escapes from the Oni, thanks to her positive attitude, good humor – and contagious laugh!

The Stonecutter is a magical dance/drama about a humble stonecutter, named Tasaku. It is adapted from a traditional folktale which has many endings. Dissatisfied with his lowly place in life, Tasaku wishes to be more. In our version, as if in a dream, the stonecutter is transformed into a Prince, the sun, clouds, and a mountain. In the end, Tasaku finds peace within himself, and the knowledge to become fulfilled.

“It was your interactions with our students, the getting right in there with them and responding to their moods and insights, that truly left me a forever fan of your work.”
~1st grade teacher, Westfield, MA

"Your sensitive blending of narrative, choreography, costumes and masks produced a masterful effect. You created and atmosphere of believable magic."

~Principal, Pelham Elementary School, Pelham, MA

"I feel compelled to write in order to tell you what you probably already know - you have a treasure of a theater company! Your exceptional choreography in "The Stonecutter", coupled with the invitation to our teachers and students to use their imaginations, enabled them to follow the stonecutter through his search for inner contentment. Truly this is what an enrichment program should be."

~President, PTO, Ruth Chaffee School, Newington, CT
